Gather baseline data and assess apprentice skills.
Reinforces employability skills and support the apprentice by understanding social aspects of the workplace.
Make appropriate modifications necessary to accommodate each apprentice and help them be successful at the job.
Attend job orientation with the apprentice to aid and assure clarification as needed.
Teach essential tasks, duties and core skills of the job to the apprentice.
Provide individual support, depending on the needs of each apprentice.
Builds natural supports to reduce time spent with each apprentice as core skills are developed, with the understanding that independence in the workplace is the goal.
Teach safe practices for the work environment.
Model appropriate workplace behavior.
Report and work with the Program Instructor and employer supervisor to determine new skills as the apprentice gains competencies and confidence.
Regularly meets with the Program Instructor.
Assist with classroom instruction as needed.
Assesses apprentice progress and give feedback to the apprentice and program instructor.
Assist with classroom instruction as needed.
Completes assessments, reports, and other documentation in a timely manner.
Temporary position until December 31, 2023, then pending continuation of grant funding for the Vocational Apprenticeship Program.
Position can be part-time, PRN or contracted.
High School diploma or GED.
Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as well as personal automobile liability insurance as required by the state of Texas.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in rehabilitation, business, marketing, or a related human services field, and one year of paid or unpaid experience serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Work Schedule:
8-5 Mon-Fri (Full-time) Flex Salary:
$15.
50/hourly Cell Phone Reimbursement:
$30.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
